Graphic Novels

The exploration and the discussion of the universal theme of Good versus Evil will begin with the analysis, and discussion of Graphic Novels.

The following areas will be explored for discussion and deconstruction:

• The unique aspects of the Graphic novel.
• The disturbing messages and concepts. (Violence, Sexism, Gratuitous Exploitation) 
• The dark, the light and the gray.
• Assessment of the genre.

This is a group assignment that will include a home group focusing on one novel, a jigsaw group discussing all novels, and the home group presentation.

This assignment will build note-taking skills, apply narrative elements, develop critical thinking, cooperative and presentation skills.
